Thoughtful

I’m thinking of changing my domain name. I’ll stil have 78images.com but instead of fnproductions.net…it’ll either go to 78images…or it will change to michellejnorton.com.
Fuzzy Navel Productions started as a joke. It became more than that but in recent years I’ve stopped using it.
I’ll have to decide….but what does everyone else think? This blog will still be Fuzzy Thoughts. I like fuzz.

I’ve just about unlocked all the unique exercises. Today I decided to do Advanced Step for my Aerobics…in doing so I unlocked Free Step.
Free Step is simple and yet pretty neat. You choose 10, 20 or 30 minutes. Then they give you a step goal and you go. The sound is all handled through the Wiimote. Wii Fit encourages to watch tv or a movie while you do this…the screen will count your steps and time but even if you change the channel, the Wiimote keeps the beat and the encouragement up. You can change how fast the beat is and from two rhythms, a voice or nothing.
By the end I had a mild sweat and heart beat going but it felt good (I did 20 minutes). Then with five minutes left I did some of the boxing. Finally I had 1 minute left…I decided to do a balance game since I hadn’t for quite a while. I’ve unlocked all of those right away but the last one I had not tried yet.
Its Meditation! They give you a candle to concentrate on and you have sit still. Just like in real life (assuming your real life is like mine with a noisy kid, animals and an SO that thinks meditation is for pinko-commie-hippy-nutjobs) people walk around you, bugs fly in and doors slam. Your job is to hold still, breath and watch the pretty flame. I made it 86 seconds.

OOOOoooooo
I’ve begun adding more reps to my Wii Fit strength training exercise. It’s something you unlock as you go, but you have to choose them to do more. Today I started choosing the higher reps I’ve unlocked…I did fairly well. I’m still on only six reps for side planks…those are hard.
Midway through the exercise this morning, J. decided to use the pug as a tickling device. I fell over and the poor traumatized pug sat on me. Needless to say I got zero points for that exercise.
A lot of us are having financial problems at the moment. I thought I’d repeat something that most finance experts tell you..but generally get ignored. I ignored them. I thought I didn’t have the money to do these things. Then last year I started doing them on a fluke.
- Pay yourself first: Figure out what you can take out of every check before you do anything. If all it is is 50 cents…fine, do it. Then put it away.
- Make a donation to some non-profit every year. Make the donation at least worth $250 dollars. That’s when the donation really begins to count.
So while I’m not financier or anything…these are two tips that really have helped. So there you go.

Quite Mad
I am trying to catch up on reviews. I’m not that far behind yet…but it’d be best if I catch up.
Besides that I’m food experimenting this week. Low carb, easy protein. This means fresh fruit and veggies all day…with pre-cooked chicken as the protein source. I cooked bunch of chicken last night (worchester and pepper) then cut it up for easy finger food. I spent my grocery allowance on fruits and veggies from Sunflower Market.
Fruit is doing a good job of curbing the sweet craving. My first goal is to loose the 1lb from the kidney stones and the 1lb from the week of Steamboat.
Then it’s all downhill from there.
My alarm didn’t go off and J. didn’t see fit to wake me up. So Wii Fit will have to be done tonight. That’s okay…I should have time.

Cool
Exercise has been near nill since the Kidney Stones. Two weeks ago I started doing Wii Fit yoga twice a week. This week I brought my Yoga dvd with me so I could do something. Besides swimming, hiking and walking…I manged three sessions of yoga at 1/4 modified. I feel pretty good.
I’m eating well even on vacation, but I’ve decided to tweak my diet a bit more. More fruit, and instead of processed protein, I’m going to include some pre-cooked chicken instead. The kidney stones played complete havoc on my diet. I went downhill a lot. But it was much easier to get back on track since. Even on this vacation I’ve been fairly good. Lavender Creme Brulee not withstanding.
So that’s were I’m at. Feeling good. I’ll check my weight went I get back. I expect gain…but we’ll see.
Otherwise I’m working on learning astrology. I’ve been consolidating my book of shadows from the random sprawl I’ve long kept to organized books. I’m almost done…that pretty exciting to have all my work at my fingertips. Now if I can just get that wallpaper down.
So that’s me right now…feeling good, doing better. All is good.

The Supreme Court ruled in favor of the second amendment. This is a wonderful day. You should note that Stevens has a profund lack of historical knowledge in his dissent.
I’ll have to post a link later, as all I have now is J’s iPhone, so no copy paste. But the fact that we can and should be able to protect ourselves from our government using guns still stands gives me fairh in our government.
I hope the irony isn’t lost here.

So I started using Wii Fit again. Just yoga for the time being. It made me so sore…I was happy about that. I’ve only gained a pound since the kidney stones. That’s not that bad…but I need to get back to exercise.
We’re in Steamboat this week with intermittent wifi…so I won’t be on much. I brought my yoga dvd with me…and was shocked that I could do 1/4 modified. That’s a big improvement over 1/2 modified. I is stretchy I is. Speaking of which I’m officially a size 12. I actually have pants that fall off of me. Score!
So I’m in Steamboat…the alpine slide is expensive…9$ per ride. The food is good and the condo is nice. I’ll be back next week.
Another old friend has gotten in touch with me. I’m glad to hear from here. Should be interesting :), if I don’t scare the bejezus out of her. That remains to be seen.

They’re nobody.
That’s right. They don’t represent me or any other blogger I know. They are just trying to get in on the pie.
I’m sure you’ve heard of the AP stupidity of charging for fair use. Screw that. Why pay them for the privilege of not criticizing them?
Sounds like they are trying to save themselves from the internet. Dumb. What they will accomplish less use of the AP. How many news stories quote them already? Can you imagine if all those stories stopped using AP. We’ll either just paraphrase or drop them.
Not such a bad idea that…dropping the AP that is. I like Scalzi’s opinion about this:
I’m pretty comfortable with my own standard of what constitutes fair use, but if the Associated Press wants to argue with me about it, well, I suppose now they have a reason to come after me about it.
John Scalzi
Not that I think they’ll care about little old me.

Have you seen Ironman yet? If not go out and see it. I’ll wait.
.
.
.
.
Good movie huh? Now turn around, go out and see Incredible Hulk. It’s the sequel to Ironman. No kidding…the references happen in the first five minutes…if you’re a Marvel fan you’ll notice they lay the ground work for Captain America. And for those of you just a little too dense on that front…Robert Downey Jr. shows up.
Don’t worry, they completely erased that horrible Hulk movie. They did a great job. It has a lot of the TV show references too…(and that beautiful music).
It makes me fired up to see Thor and Captain America…then the inevitable Avengers.
Like Batman Begins and Superman Returns…they’ve reinvented the superhero movie…they grew up and got real. Kitch is good…story is better.
It’s so good.
